Dr. Chris Garcia founded the Chris Garcia Academy, Inc. in 2021 as a branch of his health and wellness company, Sports Performance Physical Therapy, Inc.
Dr. Chris Garcia and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Garcia, started Sports Performance Physical Therapy, Inc. in 2014 in hopes of creating the premier health & wellness facility in Chula Vista, CA to help people relieve pain, prevent injury and improve performance so they can live healthy and active lives.
At Sports Performance Physical Therapy, Inc., Dr. Chris created a unique system to help physical therapists work with athletes at all levels. Using his framework of treating professional athletes around the world, he spent countless hours and mentored hundreds of students, new graduates and experienced clinicians using the same concepts. As his community of like-minded clinicians grew, he released his flagship course, “Management of the Barbell Athlete,” in 2018. It was then that Dr. Chris Garcia realized there was a gap in education in physical therapy school and continuing education courses (ie, CEUs). He noticed CEU courses were focused solely on “body regions”, “joints” or “movement”, and not on managing the health of people throughout their lifespan.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
As a strength and conditioning specialist and sports performance coach, Dr. Chris bridges the gap between rehab and athletic performance.
As an educator, Dr. Chris delivers CEU courses in sports rehab and mentors physical therapists locally and across the country.
CHRIS GARCIA ACADEMY
Dr. Chris’s vision has always been to treat every patient and client as a “person” and not a “body part.”
His passion is customer service and believes clinicians should place emphasis on “people first, patient second.” As such, he treats every client as a professional athlete, providing world class care and exceptional customer service. He incorporates his experience in professional sports to provide a personalized evaluation, eclectic manual therapy techniques, and sport-specific programming for every client.
His vision is to have physical therapists help clients not only manage pain but serve as comprehensive healthcare providers by managing injuries through all phases of care, providing injury prevention services, and programming fitness programs to keep them injury-free throughout their life.
